We manage a diverse portfolio of properties—including single-family homes, multifamily communities, commercial properties, and homeowners associations. Mitchell T. Compton
CEO and Founder, Tyco Property Management Company
Tyco Property Management Company founder, Mitchell Compton, has been an active member in the Common Interest Development Industry since August 1986. Mitchell served four years in the U.S. Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran. After his service, he attended the University of San Diego where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 1976, along with his Real Estate License. He received his Broker’s License in 1978. In 1984, he was awarded the prestigious Certified Property Manager (C.P.M.) designation by the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Mitchell is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the California Association of Realtors, where he served as a State Director, Nominating Committee Member, and Regional Vice President. He is a past President of the Pacific Southwest Association of Realtors (P.S.A.R.), where he also chaired numerous committees, including the Landlord/Tenant Committee and Professional Standards. He was named Realtor of the Year in 1996.
Mitchell has taught courses in apartment management and remains deeply involved in the local community. He is a member of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce and the Chula Vista Rotary Club, where he received the Distinguished Service Award in both 1999 and 2000 and was named a Paul Harris Fellow in 2009.
Mitchell T. Compton II
Executive Vice President, Tyco Property Management Company
Mitchell T. Compton II brings over 25 years of experience in real estate investment, development, and management. He has extensive experience as an owner and operator of multifamily and office properties and has successfully developed condominium communities. He also possesses deep knowledge of the common interest development (CID) landscape and has been instrumental in growing Tyco’s association management business—building the infrastructure, systems, and strategic partnerships that support the company’s continued success.
He began his career in 1994 at Tyco Property Management & Investments while still in college. After earning a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Southern California, Mitchell joined Bank of America Private Bank as an Analyst, supporting high-net-worth clients with lending and estate planning.
In 2002, he co-founded Halcyon Companies, focused on multifamily and commercial acquisitions. He later helped form EnDev Enterprises and Dominion West, expanding into development and distressed real estate investments. He received his California real estate license in 1995 and his broker’s license in 2003.
Since rejoining Tyco in 2014, Mitchell has led its residential, multifamily, commercial, and association divisions. A licensed California real estate broker for over 20 years, he brings hands-on leadership and deep market insight to every property under management.
Marshall “Ty” Compton
Founder and Chairman Emeritus (Deceased), Tyco Property Management Company
Marshall “Ty” Robert Compton (1924–2012) was a respected businessman and public servant whose contributions significantly shaped the Chula Vista community. Born in Blair, Nebraska, Ty’s early passion for aviation led him to become a Naval Aviator during World War II. After his service, he transitioned into the lumber industry, eventually relocating his family to Chula Vista in 1953.
In 1966, Ty ventured into real estate, establishing Tyco Property Management Company. In 1976, his son Mitchell joined the firm, and together they built Tyco into a cornerstone of South Bay’s property management landscape, known for its excellence in residential, commercial, and community association services.
Ty’s commitment to community extended beyond business. He served twice as President of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce and held leadership roles within the California Association of Realtors, including State Director and Regional Vice President. In 2003, he was appointed by the City of Chula Vista as its Commissioner on the San Diego Unified Port District, reflecting his dedication to public service.
His legacy endures through the ongoing success of Tyco Property Management Company and the lasting impact of his community engagement.
